There was a recent study that shows black American brains age more rapidly than white and Hispanic brains. According to the research, this is why black Americas are more susceptible to Alzheimer’s and dementia at a younger age. However, this study; which should be taken seriously by scientists, doctors and researchers, has devolved into yet another left-wing gong show with the experts now proclaiming the stress of racism is what is aging black people’s brains faster than most.
Experts believe that black participants’ brains age faster due to “weathering.” Weathering refers to the buildup of racial stressors over time resulting from discrimination, poverty, residential segregation, pollution, and concerns about personal safety. However, the actual study itself constantly contradicts the experts’ “racism” theory.
The brains of Black adults in the U.S. age more quickly than those of white and Hispanic adults, showing features linked to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias as early as mid-life, according to a new study.
The study, published Monday in JAMA Neurology, analyzed the MRI scans of nearly 1,500 participants from two racially and ethnically diverse cohorts. It found that Black adults in mid-life — on average, in their mid-50s — were more likely than white or Hispanic adults of the same age to have a higher prevalence of white matter lesions, markers of cerebrovascular disease that are associated with cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease.
The article goes on to highlight the team’s surprise regarding Hispanics’ opposite outcomes compared to Blacks, despite both groups facing hardships and stress. One would expect this fact to prompt the experts to reevaluate their “racism hypothesis,” but of course, that wasn’t the case.
“The brains of Black participants in mid-life looked like the brains of older adults"

Given that Hispanic people also face structural inequities, the team was also surprised that early brain aging did not appear to the same extent in that cohort.
The study goes on to deliver another blow to the “racism” theory:
The differences in the amount of brain aging between racial and ethnic groups were not as large among older adults. This may be because people with early brain aging in midlife are generally less healthy and may have shorter lifespans, Brickman said. Black adults who do survive into old age, he said, may be hardier and have healthier brains.
A much simpler hypothesis would suggest that this could be primarily due to genetic factors. For instance, higher rates of obesity among black individuals could indicate lifestyle choices that also contribute to accelerated brain aging. This was the entire hypothesis of that bad, bad, naughty book “The Bell Curve”. This makes much more sense than simply conjuring up yet another “racist boogeyman.”
