Popular conservative pundit Candace Owens has revealed her final verdict on the DeSantis 2024 campaign, and it has definitely caused a stir. If you’ll recall, Candace jumped off the Trump train back in 2022, when she came out against the former president for his early attacks on Ron DeSantis.
Candace Owens is the latest conservative influencer to give up on Donald Trump after the Republican candidates he endorsed for the midterm elections failed to win their seats.
Owens, speaking on her Daily Wire show after the midterms, said that she’s been suspicious of Trump since he was rude to her following an interview where they clashed on the COVID-19 vaccine.
The conservative firebrand previously criticized Trump – saying he was out of touch with his support base after he came out in favor of the COVID vaccine. Trump then turned on her, she claims.
Candace let things get personal, claiming Trump was rude to her. As a result, she seemed to withdraw her political support, and was seemingly caught in a toss-up between supporting Kari Lake or Ron DeSantis for president.

Fast forward a year and the political landscape looks very different. As DeSantis struggles to connect with voters, Candace has rendered her verdict and labeled his campaign a train wreck. She voiced her unhappiness with the DeSantis campaign on Twitter, yet stopped short of throwing her support behind Trump.
Here’s what Candace said:
Sorry to the say it but the Desantis campaign was dead on arrival and it’s time to admit it.
Tons of mistakes.
Needed to be more upfront about his intention to run. Doesn’t come across as honest and he’s boring. (You can say it shouldn’t matter but it does).
He also needed someone more like Kayleigh McEnany rather than petty Christina Pushaw running comms.
The influencers that are still cheerleading for him are those that recently moved to his state and want to reap the benefits for standing firm beside him through his inevitable loss.
I’m not knocking the influencer-hustle, just calling it as I see it. They know he can’t win either.

Candace’s comments come on the heels of more bad polling news for the popular Florida governor.
New polling points to trouble for Ron DeSantis with one particular demographic in the 2024 presidential race.
A Fox News poll conducted from June 23 through June 26 shows the Florida Governor 50 points behind former President Donald Trump, 64% to 14%, with Republican voters under the age of 45.
The 77-year-old Trump’s massive lead with younger voters is notable given that DeSantis, a 44-year-old, is actually a member of that demographic cohort. The Governor has made age an issue in campaign speeches, promoting himself as being able to bring energy to the executive branch.
Despite these promises, younger voters represent a drag on DeSantis’ overall numbers, and are the worst subgroup for the Governor in the Fox News survey. With voters between the ages of 45 and 64, DeSantis is only 25 points down (52% to 27%). And with voters 65 years of age and up, the Governor is 20 points back (50% to 30%).
President Trump is still a heavy hitter in politics, but he’s got a load of looming legal issues to tackle. So, this political match is far from over. There’s going to be a lot more blood shed and elbows thrown to come.
