It’s been nearly a month since the jaw-dropping firing of Tucker Carlson, and the fallout at Fox News is still heating up. The folks at Fox News are scratching their heads, trying to figure out how to turn around their sinking ratings. The situation has gotten so bad that even Megyn Kelly, a former Fox host herself, admits she’s never seen ratings this low.

As viewers continue to tune out, it becomes evident that they no longer rely on Fox News and are unlikely to return, regardless of how Fox reshuffles their prime time schedule. Desperate to halt the ongoing decline and reclaim viewership, Fox is trying every trick in the book, hoping that something they throw will stick. The next host in line to be hurled against the wall happens to be none other than Sean Hannity. The masterminds at Fox News seem to believe that by placing Hannity, who relied on Tucker Carlson as his lead-in, in the highly sought-after 8:00 p.m. slot, he will be the savior who turns the tide. However, many people are looking at this thinking Fox News is setting Hannity up for a gigantic fall.

Fox News Channel is considering “multiple scenarios” for its primetime lineup after the ouster of Tucker Carlson, with the network declining to comment on a recent report that veteran Sean Hannity might move into its 8 p.m. lead-off hour.

“No decision has been made on a new primetime line-up and there are multiple scenarios under consideration,” Fox News said in a statement Wednesday.

Fox News issued the comment in the wake of The Drudge Report posting the notion that Hannity would move to 8, while Jesse Watters, who has fared well at 7 p.m., would move into the primetime schedule, along with Greg Gutfeld, who hosts a late-night-styled 11 p.m. program.

The problem with Hannity is that he’s not America First and he never has been. Hannity has been with Fox News since 1996, and lately he hasn’t brought anything new to the table. In fact, his recent support of the Ukraine war has taken us back in time to the “war days” of the Bush era.

No one is going to eagerly switch on their TV to listen to establishment talking points. The reason why many tuned in to Tucker is because he fearlessly connected directly with the America First, Make America Great Again movement and. Unfortunately, Sean Hannity falls short in that regard and doesn’t resonate with the same impact.

And thus far, Sean Hannity has been one of the worst offenders.

Hannity has tied himself into knots trashing President Biden over rising oil prices while also advocating for the drastic escalation of sending fighter jets to Ukraine.

On his radio program, Hannity has concocted wild ideas like assassinating Putin or bombing Russian convoys…

For those confused by what they are witnessing, here is a simple explanation: Fox News, Sean Hannity, and the GOP are reverting back to the leading roles they played in the run-up to the Iraq War.

Fox News falling into the Hannity trap could spell trouble not only for Hannity, as some have doubts about his ability to attract even two million viewers in that time slot, which would only be 2/3rds of Tucker’s audience, but also for other successful hosts at Fox News, including Watters and Gutfeld.

Such a move would have significant ramifications that would not dovetail with recent Fox News strategy. Gutfeld’s 11 p.m. program has been a break-out success with the network’s viewers, and has extended the outlet’s opinion block from 7 p.m. to midnight. Watters’ show at 7 has also been considered successful, and he might seem like a natural successor to Carlson. Watters is also more right-leaning than others on the roster and he got his start making appearances at 8 p.m. on Bill O’Reilly’s show. But people familiar with Fox News say executives have suggested that Watters was doing well in the 7 p.m. hour he began anchoring in 2022 and may not be Carlson’s successor.

Another recent report reveals that Tucker Carlson was fired as part of a “secret” deal stuck with Dominion.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s ouster was reportedly linked to the new channel’s $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems, according to Variety.

Variety cited multiple unnamed sources who were aware of an April 26 conversation Carlson had with an unnamed member of Fox Corporation’s board who reportedly told Carlson about the agreement. According to Variety, the condition was not formally written down in any of the case’s settlement documents. Instead, Carlson’s ouster as the highest-rated cable news host was based on a verbal agreement. If Fox didn’t follow through, Dominion would not have settled with the company.

“That condition was intended to hurt Fox, and Tucker is just collateral damage,” a source told Variety. “Dominion wanted to punish Fox, and it’s working.”

It feels like karma has caught up with Fox News, the network that once thought it was untouchable and could treat its viewers disrespectfully without facing any repercussions.

The Murdochs are now experiencing the harsh reality that this is far from the truth.
