Just after 3:00 in the afternoon on Wednesday, a crew of two on a training mission with the Tennessee National Guard lost control of their helicopter and plummeted to a fiery death onto Highway 53 just north of Huntsville. Nobody on the road was injured.

Witnesses said they had no hope anyone had survived, as the wreckage was unrecognizable as an aircraft.
