Fresh off of commanding poll results, Presumptive GOP nominee President Donald Trump is said to be preparing a much awaited return to Twitter and Facebook:
Mounting a comeback for the White House, Donald Trump is looking to regain control over his powerful social media accounts.
With access to his Twitter account back, Trump’s campaign is formally petitioning Facebook’s parent company to unblock his account there after it was locked in response to the U.S. Capitol riot two years ago.
“We believe that the ban on President Trump’s account on Facebook has dramatically distorted and inhibited the public discourse,” Trump’s campaign wrote in its letter to Meta on Tuesday, according to a copy reviewed by NBC News.
Twitter planned a permanent ban, but new owner Elon Musk reinstated Trump’s account on Nov. 19 and then criticized the company’s previous leadership for the ban.
Trump, however, hasn’t yet tweeted.
“Trump is probably coming back to Twitter. It’s just a question of how and when,” said a Republican who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations with Trump about returning to the platform. “He’s been talking about it for weeks, but Trump speaks for Trump, so it’s anyone’s guess what he’ll do or say or when.”
Another Trump confidant who also didn’t want to be identified speaking about conversations with him said that Trump has sought input for weeks about hopping back on Twitter and that his campaign advisers have also workshopped ideas for his first tweet.
Trump initially expressed resistance to returning to Twitter in his exclusive conversation with Revolver News’ Darren Beattie, who praised his communication style and urged him to return to the social media platform the President had used to such tremendous and historic effect:
Beattie pointed out that the Deep State would like nothing more than to keep Trump off of Twitter, and speculated that Elon Musk himself, despite business interests, may have an ego investment preventing Trump from coming back on the platform and unseating Elon as the top Tweeter:
Following up on this interview, Revolver News called for Trump’s triumphant return to Twitter as a means of circumventing the deep state, the corrupt special interests, and the swamp that is hell-bent on stopping President Trump’s return to the White House:
Despite these factors, a Trump return to Twitter would represent nothing less than a triumphal march.
It would signal the return of a true king to his castle after corrupt, incompetent, clownish evildoers had driven him away. And if Trump wants to complete his victorious return, by marching all the way back into the White House that was snatched from him by such underhanded means two years ago, then going back to Twitter is a crucial step along the way.

If there’s one thing we learned from the Twitter Files leaks, it’s that the deep state did everything conceivable in its power to justify de-platforming President Trump
On Jan 7, senior Twitter execs:
– create justifications to ban Trump
– seek a change of policy for Trump alone, distinct from other political leaders
– express no concern for the free speech or democracy implications of a ban

There’s good reason the deep state and their allies in the media want nothing more than to keep Trump off of Twitter — it’s one of the most effective ways for Trump to communicate directly with the people. And as Revolver pointed out in an earlier article, with Trump now reinstated to Twitter, that social media platform could be one of Trump’s best weapons against the media blackout that has emerged in a desperate attempt to silence the popular message of the presumptive 2024 nominee:
After Donald Trump won in 2016, the press blamed itself, pointing toward the billions of dollars in free media their breathless coverage gave to Trump.
For this cycle, the press is determined to not make the same mistake.
Even Fox News has all but signaled its intention to participate in the Trump media blackout:
So far, at least, the press has (mostly) been maintaining discipline. They still cover Trump, of course, but they are more selective. They do not breathlessly hang on his every word. They’ve become better at focusing on stories that are truly harmful for Trump, while refusing to do the work of spreading his message for him.
How can Trump fix that? By getting back onto Twitter!
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, President Trump demonstrated an acute understanding of the value of using Twitter:
Carlson: Do you talk to anyone before you tweet? And is there anyone in the White House who can say to you, Mr. President, please do not tweet that. Who you would listen to?
Trump: Well, let me say this about tweeting, I think that maybe I would not be here if it wasn’t for twitter. Because I get such a fake press, such a dishonest press. … [W]hen I have close to 100 million people watching me on Twitter, including Facebook, including all of the — Instagram, including POTUS, including lots of things. But we have, you know, I guess pretty close to 100 million people. I have my own form of media. So, you know, if I tweet two or three or four or five times a day, and if most of them are good — I really want them all to be good but if I make one mistake in a month, this one, I don’t think is going to prove to be a mistake at all.
Take a look at what is going on with CBS, and NBC in particular, and ABC, take a look at CNN, it’s a complete hit job. No matter what you do, no matter how good, no matter how great it is, they do not report it in a positive fashion. So, when I can reach — whether it’s 90 million or 100 million or 80 million, however many people that may turn out to be when you add everything up and then of course it gets disseminated from there, when I can reach that many people – – twitter is a wonderful thing for me because I get the word out.
Trump was right then, and the same idea is equally true today. Mr. President, it’s time!
