Just days ago, Revolver warned that the right keeps losing America because its mind has been thoroughly colonized by the left’s “moral imperialism.”

From Revolver:

“Moral imperialism is the imposition of a set of moral values onto a culture that does not share those values, either through force or through cultural criticism.”

The “moral imperialism” of the left has been so effective, and so deeply internalized by the right, that the right can only think to attack the left for the hypocrisy of falling short of its own moral framework.

Rather than launching a strong moral argument asserting the value of truth, beauty, justice, order, and civilization, the right often plays gotcha games with terms like racism, sexism, and homophobia. Terms that were created and are owned and controlled by their enemies.

In Arizona, Republicans are on track to lose their second Senate race in two years, solely due to the gross incompetence of the state’s Republican establishment. Martha McSally is getting a second shot at a full Senate term even after being embarrassed by Kyrsten Sinema in 2018.

In 2020, the Democratic party is defined by urban violence, racial hatred, conspiracy theories, and lockdown insanity. But, McSally has chosen to attack her Democratic opponent for….sexism.

You see, her opponent once appeared in an ad with attractive women.

The ad actually makes her opponent, a former astronaut, look pretty cool.

A McSally spokeswoman described Kelly’s ad work as “gross,” and said, “Arizonans deserve a leader like Martha McSally who has been a pioneer for women and girls, not a sleazy salesman who enables the objectification of women and will do anything to make a quick buck.”

Does McSally think that the voters she needs to win over are a bunch of pussy-hat wearing feminists? Does she think that the conservative men who she needs to turn out to vote for her like being shamed for enjoying the sight of pretty women in advertisements?

This is what passes for “strategy” on an establishment Republican campaign.

McSally must not be happy with suffering only a 2.5-point loss like she did in 2018. She evidently wants to suffer a much more enduring and permanent humiliation.

Of course, the Democratic party has a terrible record on women. There are plenty of avenues of attack that McSally could launch. Take your pick: Ripping apart the family, devaluing marriage, pushing moms into the workplace, and drowning children in an ocean of pornography.

But your average Republican operative does not actually care about any of these things. They are more often than not cosmopolitans who have already accepted the feminist canard that sexism is rampant in America. Actually defending the family? That might earn them accusations of “sexism” and “homophobia” at the next cocktail party!

This weakness is everywhere on the right. McSally can hardly be blamed for having a weak message, because the Trump campaign is also guilty. Just yesterday, the President responded to Kamala Harris’s selection as Joe Biden’s running mate with another attempt to label Biden as “the real racist”:

Attacks like this have been used by Republicans for years, and they have never worked. If anything, this line of attack could cost the GOP votes. It validates the left’s paranoid belief that “systemic racism” is a major force in America, with secret racists occupying the halls of power who must be identified and rooted out.

In other news, rioters are burning down America’s cities and defiling its monuments. In the midst of these troubling development, The Federalist wants to spend its time reminding you that Kamala Harris…is a cop!

Once again, Republicans shoot themselves in the foot. Rather than defend law enforcement and civilization, the right tries to play “gotcha” with Kamala Harris. Of course, we are not opposed to cheekily trolling the left. But it can be done in a way that is actually clever and funny and does not accept the left’s premise that “all cops are bastards.”

Even when the right is not trying to “own the libs,” they still manage to bungle the messaging. Right now, rioters are trying to topple Belarussian president Alexander Lukashenko.

This isn’t an event that requires U.S. involvement, but the Trump administration has waded in anyway.

From The Hill:

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Monday told reporters that the administration is “deeply concerned” about an election process “marred” by restrictions and intimidation against candidates, the blocking of independent election observers, “and the detention of peaceful protesters and journalists.”

“We urge the Belarusian government to respect the right to peaceably assemble and to refrain from the use of force,” she said.

Apparently, the Trump administration accepts the left’s premise that basic crowd control tactics, like tear gas and rubber bullets, are “violence,” and that rioters are “peaceful protesters.” If this is true, then by what authority can the Trump administration shut down riots and protests in Seattle, Chicago, and Portland? The administration has foolishly ceded the moral high ground to the left, and by proxy to their unofficial paramilitary organization, Antifa.

The next time the left deploys its “peaceful protesters” to terrorize the public and get what it wants by force, they will have a more powerful claim to be “on the right side of history.” With every liberal meme they embrace, the misguided leaders of the GOP sow the seed of their own political destruction.
