In a viral twitter thread, respected pollster Richard Baris explained why mail-in voting is so dangerous to our democracy. First of all, it encourages people who are not eligible to vote to go ahead and register anyways.
Is it so incredibly hard for Donald Trump's advisors to explain this to him correctly, or do they not understand it?
This is happening everywhere — see next tweet in thread for egregious e.g. — b/c "being registered to vote in the U.S. is NOT the same as being eligible to vote." https://t.co/c7SYwH65Xb

“Everyone” is getting a ballot, nothing is being verified, and faulty ballots will inevitably be harvested by corrupt Democratic operatives.
And that is the intend, to commit fraud. There's no other explanation for:
1. "Everyone" getting a ballot, no matter their voting status, CoA flags, or whether they're dead.
2. Removing verification procedures, such as sig. match/ID.
3. Coupling it all with ballot harvesting.

Baris is of the opinion that President Trump is not helping make the case against mail-in voting, which may be why arguments against mail-in voting are not taking hold with the public.

Mail-in voting fraud is exacerbated by motor voter registration drives, where people are registered to vote when they get a driver’s license, as well as liberal get-out-the-vote efforts.
Lastly, I will defend Donald Trump on this claim:
Of course there will be at least some percentage of people residing in the U.S. illegally who will get a ballot b/c verification procedures are being suspended.
Motor voter is the top cat for these registrations. Second is GOTV.

Clearly, mail-in voting would do irreparable damage to the American Republic by encouraging and allowing mass voter fraud. In fact, we already have a mail-in voting case study in Paterson, NJ, and sure enough, fraud was rampant. A stunning one-in-five votes cast in the municipal election in Paterson, NJ were fraudulent, and four men were arrested.
Following accusations of widespread fraud, voter intimidation, and ballot theft in the May 12 municipal elections in Paterson, N.J., state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal (pictured) announced Thursday he is charging four men with voter fraud – including the vice president of the City Council and a candidate for that body.
With races still undecided, control of the council hangs in the balance. Paterson is New Jersey’s third largest city and the election will decide the fate of a municipal budget in excess of $300 million, in addition to hundreds of millions more in education spending and state aid.
In the City Council election, 16,747 vote-by-mail ballots were received, but only 13,557 votes were counted. More than 3,190 votes, 19% of the total ballots cast, were disqualified by the board of elections. Due to the pandemic, Paterson’s election was done through vote-by-mail. Community organizations, such as the city’s NAACP chapter, are calling for the entire election to be invalidated.
…
Two of the election results in Paterson were particularly close. Initially, challenger Shahin Khalique defeated incumbent Mohammed Akhtaruzzaman by 1,729 votes to 1,721. After a second recount on June 19, that race is now tied 1,730-1,730. In that race, a video posted to Snapchat has surfaced that appears to show a man named Abu Razyen unlawfully handling a large stack of ballots he indicates are votes for Khalique. Khalique’s brother, Shelim, and Razyen have been charged by the state attorney general for crimes including fraud in casting mail-in votes, tampering, and unauthorized possession of ballots. [Real Clear Politics]
President Trump, Republicans, and all Americans of good will have a responsibility to accurately make the case against mail-in voting to the American people before the election is held on November 3rd.
