You’ve probably come across the uproar surrounding the young Chiefs fan, falsely accused of wearing ‘blackface’ and being labeled a racist. Mind you, he’s only in kindergarten, for crying out loud. As you can imagine, his mother was livid.

The New York Post:

The mother of a young football fan who wore a headdress and painted his face red and black to a Kansas City Chiefs game has blasted Deadspin for accusing him of “doubling up” on racism against black and Native communities — noting that her son is himself Native American.

Holden Armenta became an unexpected focus of an article by senior writer Carron Phillips that focused on a photo of the boy standing sideways, suggesting he was wearing blackface with no mention of the red side.

“The NFL needs to speak out against the Kansas City Chiefs fan in Black face, Native headdress,” read the headline, which accused the boy of “doubling up on the racism.”

Phillips, a former New York Daily News reporter, also slammed Holden’s Native American headdress and his “Tomahawk Chop” gesture, claiming the boy “found a way to hate Black people and Native Americans at the same time.”

“It takes a lot to disrespect two groups of people at once,” Phillips wrote in the article, which has since been tagged with a community note on X branding it “purposely deceiving.”

This was blatant fake news, reminiscent of the Covington Boys fiasco. The left always seems to target kids.

One reporter who initially attacked the young child is now backtracking. Jack McGuire, from Barstool Sports, initially went after the young Chiefs fan after hack reporter Carron J. Phillips only showed half of the child’s face to promote a false narrative—a tactic often employed by left-wing ‘reporters.’ Regrettably, many other media figures, like Jack McGuire, jumped on the mob bandwagon and targeted the poor Native American child as well. Jack realized he was in the wrong and gracefully decided to issue a rather surprising and humble apology for attacking the child and spreading blatantly false news. The question remains: Is he forgiven, or have people grown weary of reporters not taking responsibility and diligently performing their jobs by thoroughly checking all the facts first? Watch his apology, and then let us know where you stand on this issue. Forgiven or not?

Here’s what Trending Politics co-founder Collin Rugg had to say about the apology in his post on X:

NEW: Barstool Sports’ Jack McGuire (@JackMacCFB) has released an apology for jumping to conclusions with the young Chiefs fan for wearing face paint.

Good man. Now why is @carronJphillips still refusing to do the same?

In his apology video, McGuire apologized to the fan, Holden Armenta, and said he would be reaching out to the family.

“For those of you who are calling me out, I am completely fair game. More than fair game… I should have been better and I deserve all the backlash.”

Barstool Sports presents itself as a young, hip, anti-woke, politically incorrect sports site, and yet time and time again we’ve seen the company and its affiliates succumb to left-wing narratives. The sports world has become as left-wing and politically correct as it gets, despite what you may think about sports being a “masculine” or “right-wing” endeavor. Obviously, engaging in sport and strenuous physical activity is definitely masculine, and there’s nothing wrong with enjoying a game with friends or family or cheering on a local team, but the idolization of athletes and the bread-and-circuses type of sports obsession that runs rampant today is as effeminate and politically correct as it gets.
